PROJECT SCOPE

CBP Environmental was contracted to complete the construction of this ash pond closure and capping project. This project is on-going, and the work includes installing all required erosion control materials, pumping and diverting temporary storm water, ash excavation and relocation. In addition, CBP is supplying and installing the HDPE liner.

During this project, there was excavation of ash near existing transmission towers, which required CBP’s precise management and expertise. CBP is also responsible for management of free water from existing ponds and water removed from the ash material, designing and operating the dewatering system effectively to maintain stable subsurface conditions during ash excavation, and monitoring and protecting an existing dam. To close out this project, CBP will provide construction of the final cover and capping system.
