SUPERINTENDENT

Position Responsibilities:

  •  Ensures a safe work environment during all operations and tasks.

  • Assists project management team with workplans.

  • Provides input and updates for the development and execution of the earthwork, milestones, work in progress and completed, construction risks, budget issues, and planning.

  • Executes and optimizes strategies, action plans, and resources.

  • Reads, understands, and interprets drawings and specifications.

  • Experienced on all types of heavy equipment for dirt and site projects.

  • Manages and is responsible for the day-to-day heavy civil construction activities and resources.

  • Conducts operations meetings to ensure operation teams are instructed on work scopes and understand their duties.

  • Participates in all safety meetings and communicates all information to the project team.

  • Delegates specific responsibilities to supervisors and foreman, assess performance, and suggest improvement where/when needed.

  • Provides input and advise on staffing needs.

  • Ensures that all personnel selected for tasks are qualified and up to date on all required certifications.

  • Ensure that all project equipment is operated according to its design and correct operation procedures. 

  • Implementation and follow-through of routine preventative maintenance for heavy equipment

  • Oversee correction of safety/quality measures raised by audits or inspections.

  • Track labor and equipment time for daily reporting.

Qualifactions Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience supervising heavy civil construction projects.

  • Experienced in project performance analysis.

  • Strong client and internal communication skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.

  • Promote cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and deliverables.

  • Extensive travel and/or relocation based upon project assignment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
