Project Manager I

As the Southeast’s premier site development and environmental construction contractor, CBP Environmental takes pride in the reputation for excellence we’ve earned over the past three decades where our integrity is matched only by our skill set. We are seeking to add an entry level Project Manager to our team to assist our Estimating Department and Project Managers on our heavy civil construction projects located throughout the Southeast. This position is based just outside of Athens, GA.

Position Responsibilities:
Develop cost estimates and proposals for heavy civil construction projects.
Attend pre-bid meetings.
Bid package review including: plans, specifications, CAD, Geotechnical Report, etc.
Calculate quantity takeoffs and perform plan set reviews.
Coordinate job set up and tracking documents.
Create relationships with suppliers.
Determine vendors and subcontractors to be utilized and secure quotes.
Responsible for collecting and maintaining safety records and work experience of all subcontractors.
Attend job meetings including pre-construction, project and staff meetings.
Report project status and performance data to the owner and team members.
Create work schedules.
May require travel.

Qualifications:
General knowledge of design, estimating, quality control, construction and operations.
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering or a related field preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Experience with Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 scheduling software, Civil 3D, and Trimble Takeoff software preferred.
Understand and interpret engineering plans, construction drawings and specifications.
Must possess the following: strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work as a team player, be a problem solver and be detail oriented.
Must be able to pass a drug test, driver’s license check and background check.

Environmental Construction Estimator

General Laborer

Job Description

We are seeking to add a general laborer to our team to work on heavy civil construction projects with our valued customers in the environmental construction sector. This position is based in Atlanta, GA.

Position Responsibilities:

Labor job duties are continually changing depending on the requirements of each project. Laborers are expected to assist in the general operation of each job site. The position consists of but is not limited to the following duties:

  • Set up and maintenance of erosion control
  • Loading and unloading of materials
  • Shoveling and raking dirt, gravel, and asphalt
  • General clean up around job site
  • Operating small equipment
  • General maintenance of all equipment and tools.

Job Requirements:

  • The above-listed duties require periods of standing, walking, stooping and bending
  • Employee must be able to climb a ladder
  • Requires periodic lifting of up to 50 pounds

Grade Foreman

We are seeking to add a Grade Foreman to our team to work on heavy civil construction projects with our valued customers in the heavy civil construction sector. This position will be based in the Southeast.

Position Responsibilities

Managing and directing the grading crews.

Plan, Coordinate and direct tasks to make certain that work is completed in a safe and efficient manner.

Reports on work progress to the Superintendent.

Continually inspects work areas to ensure the quality and accuracy of the work.

Experienced on all types of heavy equipment for dirt and site projects.

Knowledgeable in the areas of dirt work, including excavation, grade work, surveying and final excavating work.

Reads, understands, and interprets project plans and specifications.

Monitors crews for organizational structure, sizing, crew mix ratios, and wage compliance in conjunction with Superintendent.

Communicates construction needs (materials, equipment and staffing) to the Superintendent in a timely manner.

Monitors safety programs and requirements. Provides training and coaching as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform all duties listed satisfactorily.

Experience: Minimum 2 years previous experience as a Grade Foreman in heavy civil construction.

Education:

A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.

Must possess the following: well organized, strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work as a team player, and be detail oriented.

Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain project schedule.

Identify and correct conditions in regards to employee safety.

Must be able to pass a drug test, driver’s license check and background check.

Must be willing to travel and work away from home for extended periods.

Heavy Equipment Operator

We are currently looking for experienced heavy equipment operators to join our team.

Our operators are responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life.

In addition to operating equipment, responsibilities include:

  • Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
  • Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
  • Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
  • Advise Management of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
  • Participate in routine maintenance.
  • Practice workplace safety.

Job Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience in Heavy Mobile Equipment Operation.
  • Knowledge of safe & productive operation of heavy equipment.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol and medical/physical capability requirements.
  • Successful criminal background screen may be required
  • Ability to be a team leader in all safety aspects of the position
  • Position will require travel and possible weekend work.
  • Must be willing to work over-time as well.

Job Type: Full time position with hourly pay. Out of town bonus pay and per diem for all out of town work.
